The Design Process

Designer(s): Describe the design process you usually use to the Materials Scientist(s), with particular emphasis on sources of inspiration, methods used to develop ideas and the role of prototyping in your work.

Materials Scientist(s): Discuss the differences and similarities between the design process described on the video and that used by the Designer(s). How can materials science fit into and draw on the design process?

Designer(s): Discuss how lateral thinking and a design solution might help the Materials Scientist(s) to show the unique potential of their material, or overcome or bypass some limitations of their materials.
